What it is
Six sub-tabs: Questions (what is tracked, with a mention rate per engine), Prompt research (finding new questions), Answers (every raw answer), Fan-out (the web searches engines ran), Citations (the sites they cite) and Competitors.
Why it matters for AI search
To change what AI says about a brand you need to see why it says it: which searches an engine ran, which pages it read and which sites it trusts. Fan-out and citations show where the brand needs to rank or be listed to get into the answer.
How to use it
Step by step, as in the video
- Questions. Questions are the buyer questions Optimz asks AI engines every week. Each cell is the mention rate for one engine.
- Collecting. Collecting means there are too few answers yet for a reliable rate, so no percentage is shown.
- Paused questions. Questions AI keeps misunderstanding are paused automatically, with a suggested rewrite to use or resume.
- Prompt research. Prompt research finds the questions buyers ask AI about a topic. Pick a topic and, if you like, a persona.
- Track. Then track the questions worth measuring, and they join the weekly checks.
- Answers. Answers holds every raw AI answer behind the numbers: the engine, the question and what it said.
- Answer row. Each answer shows whether the brand was mentioned, at what position, and how many citations it had.
- Fan-out. Fan-out shows the web searches AI engines ran while answering. Ranking for these helps the brand get cited.
- Observed vs not exposed. Some engines show their searches and some don't. Optimz never guesses the ones an engine hides.
- Citations. Citations shows which websites AI cites for these questions, and how often it cites the client.
- Cited for competitors. Cited for competitors, not you: sites worth getting listed on, because AI cites them for rivals.
- Competitors. Competitors puts the brand side by side with every tracked rival, measured on the same answers.
Questions
What is a fan-out search?
When an AI engine answers with live web results, it first runs its own searches, often several per question. Those are fan-out searches; ranking for them is how a page becomes a source.
Why is a question paused?
If engines keep misreading a question, its answers would distort the numbers, so Optimz pauses it and suggests a clearer wording you can accept or ignore.
